Both are natural language, and both WP & Word return a possible list of answers from which to choose. Both don't always return a topic you were looking for, but I find that WP has the edge for returning an answer closest to that which you asked. WP also gives you two sorts of help:
1. An overview of the topic
2. A ‘How to . . .’
WP also lists ‘Related Topics’
WP also has ‘OPTIONS’ for any order, exact
order, at least one of the words,
show words that begin with the character you type, etc, etc, etc.

Word's option is more along the lines of ‘Send Feedback to Microsoft’.

Corel’s Perfect Experts are like a context sensitive Table of Contents on the left side of your screen. They guide you through the processes of formatting, creating, and changing your documents. This was one of the features that people new to wordprocessors rated highly when comparing WordPerfect to Word—The very same feature that Microsoft scoffed at during the Word97 vs WordPerfect 8 showdown Not only has Microsoft demoted their previously-much-touted Office Assistant (which was apparently "better" than Corel's PerfectExpert), it has now introduced a similar feature: Task Panes). Just goes to show that Corel is years ahead of MS with many features, and Corel often has a better understanding of what users *REALLY* want, not what the Software Company *THINKS* they want.

Both programs have a technology that detects corrupt or missing files and repairs/reinstalls such. Corel's technology is new to Office2002, and it is automatic; MS introduced its Detect and Repair in Office 2000 and allows the user to start the process should he or she feel something is wrong.
